Historical Information
The Churchill Suite at Korakia celebrates the friendship between Winston Churchill and artist Gordon Coutts, built on their shared love of art and lively conversation. During his stays at Korakia, Coutts’ former home, Churchill painted the striking desert landscapes of Palm Springs, drawn to the region’s distinctive light and atmosphere. In this very space, once Coutts’ living room, he hosted intimate salon dinners with renowned artists, where Churchill’s passion for painting thrived amid a vibrant exchange of creativity and ideas.
